Johnny Depp Is Inspired by His Kids

Elusive actor Johnny Depp is finally opening up about one thing – his love for his family.

“I could sit there all day and do nothing but watch them grow,” he says in the January issue of Britain’s Psychologies magazine. “I’m totally inspired by them.”

Depp, 45, has two children – Lily-Rose, 9, and Jack, 6 – with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis. He says meeting Paradis gave him “proper perspective and understanding” in his life.

“It wasn’t until then that things started to get real for me,” he tells the magazine. “We just have a miraculous understanding of each other.”

The Golden Globe-winning actor also looked back at his more memorable roles.

“I was a million percent in love with Edward Scissorhands,” Depp says of his 1990 film persona. “I remember looking in the mirror on the last day of shooting … and thinking how sad I was to be saying goodbye to Edward.”

The first Pirates of the Carribean was also a blast for the star.

Orlando Bloom and I would say to each other, ‘We’re actually getting paid to do this?’ It felt very intimate.”

But the screen idol and former Sexiest Man Alive says he hates being front and center: “I never wanted to be the guy people looked at. I don’t think of myself as being a celebrity, it’s too mortifying.”

Johnny Depp has confessed to poisoning himself with alcohol to cope with his meteoric rise to fame in the 90s.

The Pirates of The Caribbean star—who was once engaged to party-loving British supermodel Kate Moss—says he used to party hard to cope with super-stardom.

He said, “I never wanted to be the guy people looked at. I felt I could only be myself when I was alone, that I turned into some kind of novelty. The only way I could get through that time was to drink.

“I poisoned myself with alcohol for years but I’ve never been into drugs in the way it was sometimes made out.”

And Depp—who has starred in a string of critically-acclaimed film performances and received three Academy Award nominations—admits he is still insecure about his acting abilities.

He added, “I don’t think of myself as being a celebrity, it’s too mortifying. I have a hard time watching myself on screen and it’s getting worse. I can’t tell whether my work is good or not.”

Let’s face it: women love Johnny. Depp previously led Fandango’s 2007 Hot List for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and as long as he has a new movie coming out, he’ll be a hard man to beat. After a string of colorful roles where Depp mastered a variety of English accents, he finally gets to play a Midwesterner, legendary criminal John Dillinger, in the summer gangster epic Public Enemies. Depp fans are also curious to see how his brief performance will factor into Heath Ledger’s last movie, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, currently seeking an American distributor for a 2009 release.

Johnny Depp has reportedly bought an engagement ring for partner Vanessa Paradis.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star asked a high-end California jewellery store to close to the public so he could privately choose a ring for Vanessa, who he has been dating for 10 years.

A source told America’s OK! magazine: “This was Johnny’s third or fourth visit to the store.

“He looked at an assortment of classic solitaire diamond rings in platinum settings—a really beautiful selection of elegant and understated rings and made a very large purchase.”

Johnny—who has two children, Lily Rose, nine and Jack, six, with Vanessa—has previously insisted he and the French star have no desire to marry.

The 45-year-old actor once claimed: “I don’t feel like I need a piece of paper that says I own her and she owns me.”

Vanessa, 35, recently said she already feels married and has no need to take her relationship further.

She said: “I love the romance of ‘Let’s get married’ but then when you have it so perfect… I mean, I’m more married than anybody can be—we have two kids. Maybe one day, but it’s something I can really do without.”

The Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street soundtrack is nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media
(Award to the Artist(s) and/or Producer(s) of a majority of the tracks on the album, or to the individual(s) actively responsible for the concept and musical direction and for the selection of artists, songs and producers, as applicable.)!

The other nominated soundtracks are from American Gangster,Mamma Mia!, Juno and August Rush.
The awards show will be held on February 8, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Russell Brand is planning to have a skull and crossbones tattooed on his nipples.

The British comic star is so excited by rumours he may appear alongside Johnny Depp in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie that he wants to pay tribute to the hit adventure franchise.

Russell said: “I’ve seen some talk about that Pirates of the Caribbean, but I think they’re still writing the script. Nonetheless, I am having a skull and crossbones tattooed on each of my nipples in anticipation of the plotline.

Jerry Bruckheimer has told Coming Soon that
Disney is setting their sites on a 2012
release for Pirates of the Caribbean 4.
Franchise scribes Ted Elliott and Ted
Rossio are still working on the story
and plotlines. A Story which will revolve
around Johnny and Geoffrey Rush’s characters.
A script that is much further along is The
Lone Ranger in which Johnny will play Tonto.
Bruckheimer stated the leading role for The
Lone Ranger is yet to be cast even though
their were rumors that George Clooney was

The comedian, who resigned from his BBC Radio 2 show last week over the obscene phone calls made to actor Andrew Sachs, could earn up to £5 million in the role.

He would not be the first tousled British star to appear alongside Johnny Depp in the film series; Rolling Stone Keith Richards had a brief cameo as Jack Sparrow’s father in Pirates of the Caribbean 3.

A source quoted in The Sun said the part was “perfectly suited” to Brand, who is known for his eccentric style.

“There’s a lot of Jack Sparrow in his mannerisms and behaviour. Depp’s accent isn’t a million miles away from Russell’s either,” the source said.

“Russell joining the Sparrows alongside Johnny and Keith Richards as their dad will complete the ultimate on-screen pirate family.”

Despite his problems in Britain, Brand has a growing profile in Hollywood.

Since making his US film debut earlier this year in romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall, he has worked on a Disney film, Bedtime Stories, due for release at Christmas, and has a role alongside Dame Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons in a big screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

Asked after his resignation last week what he planned to do with his free time, Brand said: “Well, the show was only two hours long. I hope to go to America now and make quite a lot of films.”

Zac Efron has denied reports he is set to star in the fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, but says he would love to be asked.

Tabloid reports last week speculated that Efron would be groomed to eventually take over from Johnny Depp in the Disney franchise.

It was said that the “High School Musical” star would pick up a $10 million paycheck for the starring role.

However, Efron told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning: “Honestly, at this time it’s just a rumor.”

But the actor is hopeful it could happen and would jump on the opportunity if it was offered to him, adding, “I wish I was going to be in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4,’ so hopefully that will happen for me.”

London (ANI): He might be 45, but Johnny Depp still rules ladies’ hearts, and a new survey justifies that. According to a new poll, the Hollywood hunk has been voted as the world’s sexiest man. The World’s Sexiest Men survey, headed by Cosmopolitan magazine has revealed that the heartthrob snatched the top spot leaving behind George Clooney to nab the second place—both in their 40’s. However, following the third place was Jake Gyllenhaal, who’s just in his 27^th year.

Daniel Craig and Brad Pitt, who are in their 40s took away the fourth and the fifth rank, respectively. Interestingly, only three men in their 20 somethings made it to the Top 25 list, namely, Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal, British actor James McAvoy who came in No. 6 while singer Justin Timberlake The survey featured singer-actor Will Smith bagging the 8^th spot, followed by ace-footballer David Beckham and actor Wentworth Miller. “Both George Clooney and Johnny Depp just keep getting better with age,” the Daily Star quoted Lizzi Hosking of Cosmopolitan as saying.

DEPP SCOOPS BIGGEST EVER UPFRONT PAYOUT

Hollywood star JOHNNY DEPP will reportedly pocket a staggering $59.2 million (GBP32 million) pay cheque for reprising his role as CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW in a fourth installment of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise.
The big-money deal will make Hollywood history as the highest up-front payment ever—overshadowing the $53.65 million (GBP29 million) Tom Hanks was offered to star in the forthcoming The Da Vinci Code sequel, Angels + Demons.
But a movie insider insists Disney Studio bosses—who are behind the hugely successful franchise—would pay anything to keep Depp on their books.
The source tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, “There’s only one Johnny Depp. They simply cannot make another Pirates movie without Jack Sparrow.
“The first three films have earned $2.7 billion (GBP1.46 billion) at the box office. It’s no surprise that Disney executives want Jack back and they are willing to pay big bucks to get him.”
However, it is unlikely Depp’s co-stars Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley will return to star in another sequel.
Knightley, who played Elizabeth Swann in the adventure trilogy recently said: “I think it was wonderful and an amazing opportunity and those films were just extraordinary and I was extremely lucky to be a part of them. But no. I think my pirating days may be over.”

Johnny Depp to star in more Disney projects

LOS ANGELES (AFP) – Superstar actor Johnny Depp has signed on to three new Disney projects, including the fourth installment of the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, the entertainment industry newspaper Variety confirmed Thursday.

Along with the reprisal of off-beat pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, Depp will star as the long-suffering Native American sidekick Tonto in a new version of the iconic “Lone Ranger,” produced by hit producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

If this wasn’t enough for the 45-year-old actor, Depp will also play the Mad Hatter in director Tim Burton’s adaptation of the classic “Alice in Wonderland,” using a mix of 3D animation and performance capture technology similar to that used for 2007’s “Beowulf.”

The announcements for “Ranger,” “Wonderland” and “an additional role” were made before a crowd of roaring fans in Hollywood Wednesday when Depp appeared at the Walt Disney Showcase, a preview of the studio’s productions over the next few years.

The “Pirates 4″ confirmation arrived early Thursday through the actor’s representatives in Variety.

Hollywood star Johnny Depp has spoken for the first time about the prospect of playing the Riddler in a new Batman film. Johnny Depp has spoken for the first time about rumours he could follow Heath Ledger’s Joker by playing The Riddler in a new Batman film.

Appearing on a Florida radio station Johnny was asked about rumours he had been cast as the legendary villain. “I heard about that, not that I know of,” Johnny said before raising hopes by adding, “It seems like it’d be a fun gig for a while, yeah.”

After the Dark Knight’s incredible success (half a billion dollars and counting in the US alone) director Christopher Nolan is expected to start work on his third Batman movie next year.

Today was the permiere of Keira movie, the dutchess.

Knightley said she was pleased by the positive reviews: “It’s much better than people saying you’re awful.”
“It was a very exciting character to play,” she added.
“I think she was an incredible woman and the fact that the film’s getting good reviews is obviously really exciting.”
Asked whether she had had reservations about signing up for another period drama, Knightley said: “No, not really.”
“I think you’ve just got to go with the script and whether the character’s interesting,”
“And I thought the opportunity to work with Ralph Fiennes and Charlotte Rampling and Saul Dibb, the director, is one that I couldn’t pass up.
“So I went for the corsets and the wig and just thought: ‘I might as well.’”

“The dresses are an absolute nightmare because you cannot breathe” revealed Keira Knightley, of her authentic 18^th century costume.

“But it kind of helps because if you are feeling at all emotional then it makes it ten times worse as you can’t catch your breath, so that helps in playing the scene.” Miss Knightley continued:

“The worst part is after lunch, because they’re so tight they don’t help digestion which meant that Hayley [Atwell, co-star] and I were there playing these very ladylike characters but belching all over the place!”

Im not sure if youve heard or not but entertainment weekly confirmed that for Tim Burton’s upcoming 2010 film Alice in Wonderland Johnny Depp will be playing Mad Hatter. It hasn’t been said yet whether or not that the film will be animated or not.

A anonymous source said: “Burton has had designs on ‘Alice In Wonderland’ since before he was famous. He has a knack for turning what seem like stories for just kids into gripping, spooky fables loved just as much by adults. He’s held out on doing ‘Alice’ till he got a big enough budget. Now this film is financed by Disney so money won’t be a problem.”

Also actress Mia Wasikowska will be playing the part of Alice.

Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell , and Jude Law all took over for the role Heath Ledger started to play in his last movie before his death, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. The three all play different versions of the character in the fantasy-like film.

Because Heath left all of his money to his father at the time of his death, Johnny, Colin, and Jude wanted to make sure Matilda wasn’t being left out, so they’ve all donated their paychecks from the film to her.

Director Terry Gilliam says of his leading men,”The three actors were totally heroic coming in. This doesn’t happen very often . . . where there’s a tragedy like this, and very famous, very successful actors suddenly say, ‘Okay, we’ll do whatever it takes to help.’ They came; they did the work; they allowed the movie to be finished; they didn’t take money–the money goes to Heath’s daughter. That’s extraordinary! And wonderful . . . and when you’re part of that, you think, ‘Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies, in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people.’ And in our case, we’ve got a movie full of wonderful people, who did extraordinary things to help.”

Wow that just brought tears to our eyes. Bravo!

Johnny Depp tipped to star in Batman Sequel

As the sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight smashes box office records, talks are already underway to make the next instalment with big name stars, including Johnny Depp, being linked to the film.

Studio bosses have reportedly set their sights on the Hollywood heart-throb to star as The Riddler, a role last played by funnyman Jim Carey in 1995’s Batman Forever.

“Johnny’s a pro,” a source said of the versatile actor. “He’ll be able to take the role and still make the character his own.”

After The Dark Knight – starring Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger—took a record $314 million in ten days, it is thought producers are keen to start casting for the next flick.

Actors linked to the film include beauty Angelina Jolie in the role of Catwoman and Oscar-winning actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin, a role previously portrayed by Danny DeVito in Batman Returns in 1992.

The Site's Future

As all of you know, I am increasingly finding it harder and harder to find time to maintain the site. I love this site, it was my first fansite and I really do not want to give it away but I am not sure if it even has a future. POTC does not seem to garner the same support, excitement that it had before and I do not have the energy to update it. So what I am again calling for a full time webmaster to maintain the site or at least help me so that more stuff can get added/maintained on the site otherwise I am not sure if I want to keep the site any longer.

I welcome your input so please comment me your feelings, thoughts, suggestions.

Johnny Depp keeps promise

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Twelve-year-old Jack Taylor got a good lesson in following through on promises.

He had just one request in April when he met movie star Johnny Depp, who was in the area filming parts for the upcoming John Dillinger movie ‘‘Public Enemies.’’ Taylor wanted Depp’s hat.

Last week Depp followed through and sent him his fedora.

After Depp made the promise, Taylor’s parents tracked down his agent to make sure he’d get the hat. The agent even sent promotional gifts from Depp’s ‘‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’’ for Taylor’s four siblings.

Depp also wrote Taylor a note telling him to enjoy the hat and other gear. He says he’s working on a return letter, with some help from his parents.

Many scenes for the movie, which is about Dillinger’s crime sprees, were shot in Wisconsin.

Johnny Depp tops best actor poll

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp is Britain’s favourite actor, according to a survey.

Depp beat home-grown stars like Daniel Craig, Sir Sean Connery and Orlando Bloom to top the poll, conducted by the Cinema Advertising Association (CAA).

The star, 45, took the largest number of votes across all ages and genders.

CAA spokeswoman Anna Cremin said Depp’s “wide appeal” was down to his ability to move “from serious films like Donnie Brasco to blockbusters and comedies.”

She added: “Few other actors have managed to be so versatile.”

The CAA conducted the research with 3,000 people aged seven and over.

Although he has received three Oscar nominations, Depp has never won a coveted Academy Award. He has also left the Baftas empty-handed on two separate occasions.

But the star did pick up a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd earlier this year, and took home two golden popcorn prizes from the MTV Movie Awards, in California, last week.

Depp is also set to appear in Terry Gilliam’s film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, next year.

He stepped in to play one of three incarnations of Heath Ledger’s character after the death of the 28-year-old actor in January.

Sorry that I have not been updating but as you know, the site’s news has been slow…real slow.

Even with that, the site was hacked into TWICE so I have fixed it and everything should be fine now.

As with help for the site, what I really need is someone to update the news on the site (just as I am now). I can show you how to use the news script…which is super easy and that will be it. I run three other sites and its hard to keep up sometimes so the help would be appreciated.

As for updates, I have added ALL OF THE FANART I have received. Thank you so much to all of the artist and letting the site have their work. Remember that I always accept more fanart

So forgive me for my absence and thank you for the well wishes and concern. You all are fantastic.

Depp to Help Coma Girl

HOLLYWOOD—Kind-hearted Hollywood actor Johnny Depp has vowed to help a British girl who is fighting for her life after spending five months in a coma.

The parents of 17-year-old Sophie Wilkinson from Southampton, England, who was critically injured in a car crash last year, wrote to the Pirates of the Caribbean star, who is their daughter’s favorite actor—and Depp was so moved by their plight that he resolved to help.

Depp has agreed to record a voice message for the teenager that will be played to her in the hopes it will help bring her out of the life-threatening coma.

He also agreed to try to visit the stricken teen at Southampton General Hospital.

And Sophie’s father, Andrew, was delighted the star offered to give up his time to help.

He says, “We are looking for the key to wake her up, so we wrote to Johnny and he said he would do the recording in the voice of (his Pirates of the Caribbean character) Jack Sparrow.

“Only this week Sophie moved her right leg, which she has never done before. When we got home my wife and I were jumping for joy!”

DEPP, LAW + FARRELL TO COMPLETE LEDGER MOVIE

JOHNNY DEPP, JUDE LAW and COLIN FARRELL have signed up to save the film their late friend HEATH LEDGER was making before he died. Ledger was shooting The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus in London just days before he was found dead in his New York apartment last month (22Jan08).

Director Terry Gilliam was determined to salvage the unfinished movie—and has asked Depp, Law and Farrell to pay tribute to Ledger by taking turns to play his character in the scenes the Australian never got to shoot, reports AintItCoolNews.com. Toxicology results released earlier this month (Feb08) revealed Ledger was killed by an accidental overdose of prescribed medications.

Congratulations to HEATHER! She was the top winner in the Guess Who Contest who was able to identify that it was William Turner Senior with his captain, Davey Jones.

I have emailed everyone who I got an entry from and I hope to hear back from the winners soon.

The new contest is up and I changed the graphic a little bit. It is no longer animated but instead just a pixelated image. I also became nostalgic for one of the older potc movies ;) and chose a pretty easy one in my opinion (++hint hint++) So many people guessed incorrectly last time, an all time high so I made it a little easier.

Well I got a ton of homework to deal with…look forward for some updates soon. Hugs!

Johnny Depp welcomes Barry Manilow duet

Johnny Depp welcomes a duet with Barry Manilow.

The Hollywood star revealed he would jump at the chance to sing with the 64-year-old ‘Mandy’ singer.

Speaking about his lead role in musical ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,’ he told Envelope magazine, “I don’t think I would have attempted this kind of project with anyone but a director like Tim Burton.

“But if there’s a chance of doing a duet with Barry Manilow now, then I’m in!”

Depp previously admitted he was unsure of his own singing talents before signing up for the film.

The 44-year-old star said, “I knew I wasn’t tone deaf but I didn’t know if I’d really be able to hold the notes or belt out a tune.”

But Burton claims Depp “exceeded all expectations” with his vocal performances.

He said, “I always had every confidence in him and he needn’t have worried at all.

“His performance was wonderful and exceeded all of my expectations. He is a great actor.”

NEW YORK—Want an autograph from Johnny Depp? Chances are, he’ll sign something for you and not be a jerk about it.

The 44-year-old actor is the most gracious celebrity for the third year in a row on Autograph magazine’s annual list of the “10 Best and 10 Worst Hollywood Signers.”

Depp is “`Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ on film, and Johnny and the Signing Factory in person,” the magazine said.

“Though soft-spoken and laid-back, he likes to talk to fans and get to know them while signing,” New York autograph dealer Anthony Risi explains in the December issue, now on newsstands. “He’ll sign more than one item when he has time, too.”

The magazine said editors compiled input from autograph-collecting judges based in Europe, New York and California in ranking the celebs.

Matt Damon is second on the list, followed by George Clooney, Jack Nicholson, Rosario Dawson, John Travolta, Katherine Heigl, Jay Leno, Dakota Fanning and Russell Crowe — wait, Russell Crowe?

Crowe, who has a history of throwing temper tantrums, ranked among the worst signers on last year’s list. But in a turnaround, the magazine said, the 43-year-old actor “started treating fans great, signing, taking pictures and chatting them up.”

Will Ferrell is deemed the worst celebrity signer, followed by Tobey Maguire, Joaquin Phoenix, William Shatner, Renee Zellweger, John Malkovich, Julie Andrews, Bruce Willis, Teri Hatcher and Scarlett Johansson.

However, “keep in mind that even the best signers don’t sign sometimes, the worst sometimes do, and that just because they’re on the worst list doesn’t mean they’re bad people,” the magazine said.

As a special treat for finishing up her new album (doing her job in other words) Johnny Depp has bought wife Vanessa Paradis her own vineyard. And the Edward Scissorrhands star, finding himself with a bit of time on his hands thanks to the writer’s strike delaying his new movie Shantaram, managed to find the perfect vineyard too, it’s reported to be a mere stone throw from the couple’s Plan De Tour home in France. Actor Johnny Depp was forced to overcome his fear of singing in public for new musical Sweeney Todd.

The 44-year-old feared he would have to back out of the film, warning director Tim Burton that he wasn’t very confident in his singing abilities.

He says, “I think I was probably more frightened than anyone. I’ve never tried karaoke. It scares the hell out of me. I’ve never been that drunk—and I’ve been drunk. Tim said he didn’t know if I could sing, and likewise, I didn’t know if I could sing.

Johnny Depp film hit by writer's strike: report

LOS ANGELES (AFP)—A Johnny Depp film and a big-budget musical featuring Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have become the latest movies to be hit by Hollywood’s writer’s strike, it was reported on Tuesday.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” star Depp had been due to appear in the Mira Nair-directed “Shantaram,” an adaptation of the Gregory David Roberts novel, entertainment industry Daily Variety reported.

Cruz and Bardem meanwhile were to have starred with Italian icon Sophia Loren and French actress Marion Cotillard in “Nine,” a screen version of the successful musical inspired by Federico Fellini’s “8 1/2.”

However Variety reported that both projects have now been put on hold because scripts for each film had not been completed before the writers’ strike got underway earlier this month.

Film and television writers went on strike on November 5 seeking a bigger cut from Internet sales and downloads in the first major industrial action by the Writers Guild of America in nearly 20 years.

The dispute has plunged the entertainment industry into turmoil, halting production on hit television shows like “Desperate Housewives” and forcing the postponement of the latest season of “24.”

Although major Hollywood films studios were reported to have insulated themselves against the short-term effects of the strike by stockpiling finished scripts, plans for films due for release in 2009 have been affected.

As well “Shantaram” and “Nine,” a new Tom Hanks film, “Angels and Demons,” as well as an upcoming Oliver Stone war movie “Pinkville,” have both been shelved because of the strike.

Popular late-night chat shows hosted by Jay Leno and David Letterman have also gone into shutdown because of the strike, which industry analysts believe may last several months.

I want to thank Pirate Queen for giving me the heads up…been so busy that I have forgotten!

This was the first website I had ever started and I actually wanted to close it about a year or so ago. Sere convinced me to keep it so I closed my Troy fansite instead and I believe now that I made the right choice!

Site Update & POTM Nomination Time!

Hey everyone! I did something pretty awesome today, I upgraded our Cutenews to FanUpdate which is absolutely FANTASTIC. People have complained about Cutenews since the beginning of time and I finally found a good alternative. Also, our comments stopped working because the script just randomly failed or because of a hacker (which I really hope it is not because they deleted all of our recent comments—like all the great ones you guys posted for the layout ). So now.. I love this script and THE COMMENTS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW!

The best part of all is that we can no longer be attacked by spam because CAPATCHA is installed (the weird lettering you have to enter in order to comment. It will take an additional few seconds to post comments but the site is no longer vulnerable ) Also, now you can access our archives through archive link at the bottom as well as search through it!

Anywho, all of the ARCHIVED news/comments are all still saved miraculously because I was able to import over the Cutenews archive. How great is this program? I am pretty sure a massive change is going to be occurring in my sites in the coming days-weeks.

Eva Mendes has admitted that she regrets how she kissed Johnny Depp, her co-star in Once Upon A Time in Mexico, because she wishes it had lasted longer.

The Hitch actress starred opposite Depp in the 2003 film, but because she had such a big crush on him she did not make the most of their on-screen kiss.

Mendes revealed: “All of my screen kisses were the best, though I regret not kissing Johnny Depp for longer. I was so intimidated by him. It was the first time I had worked with an actor who I had crushed on as a little girl.”

Keira also attended the Venice film festival but the moment I saw Johnny attend it…I went “I must snag photos now”…kinda like a zombie motion lol. I always found that to be really unorganized and messy so I finally created a fanart archive for the site. Thank you so much to Tonje for the lovely header and Washed Away Designs for the theme.

Washington, Aug 31 (ANI): Brit actress Keira Knightley has called ‘Atonement’ co-star James Mcavoy as the ‘best kisser ever’.

The 22-year-old, who has had several on-screen kisses with hot actors like Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, said that Mcavoy’s kiss was the most memorable one.

“James is the best kisser ever,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

Speaking at the Venice Film Festival. Knightley also called her performance in the film as her best.

Sweeney Todd Film Will Open Wide Dec. 21

The new film of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s musical Sweeney Todd � starring Johnny Depp as the Demon Barber of Fleet Street � will now arrive in movie theatres nationwide Dec. 21, according to Variety.

The DreamWorks/Warner Bros./Paramount film was originally scheduled to open in limited release and then go wide Jan. 11, 2008 because the powers that be felt the musical’s dark storyline would be less commercial than previous movie musicals. However, after executives began seeing “Sweeney” clips, they realized the film could have wider appeal than originally believed. The film is expected to receive an R rating.

Several other films will also open Dec. 21: “National Treasure: Book of Secrets,” “P.S., I Love You,” “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Store” and “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.”

The film adaptation of the Sondheim musical was penned by John Logan (”The Aviator,” “Gladiator”). Tim Burton directs a cast that also includes Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett, Alan Rickman (Private Lives, the “Harry Potter” films) as Judge Turpin, Timothy Spall (”Harry Potter”) as Beadle Bamford and Sacha Baron Cohen (”Borat,” “Talladega Nights”) as Signor Adolfo Pirelli.

Rounding out the cast are Laura Michelle Kelly (Fiddler on the Roof) as the Beggar Woman, Jamie Campbell Bowen as Anthony, Jayne Wisener as Johanna and newcomer Ed Sanders as Toby.

The official synopsis for the film follows: “Johnny Depp and Tim Burton join forces again in a big-screen adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s award-winning musical thriller ‘Sweeney Todd.’ Depp stars in the title role as a man unjustly sent to prison who vows revenge, not only for that cruel punishment, but for the devastating consequences of what happened to his wife and daughter. When he returns to reopen his barber shop, Sweeney Todd becomes the Demon Barber of Fleet Street who ’shaved the heads of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard from again.’ Joining Depp is Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney’s amorous accomplice, who creates diabolical meat pies. LOS ANGELES—”Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” dominated the seventh annual Teen Choice Awards, taking honors for Choice Movie: Action Adventure. Stars Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Bill Nighy also took home awards.

“High School Musical 2″ also scored with Choice TV: Movie, as did two of its stars. Zac Efron was dubbed “Choice Male Hottie” and Vanessa Hudgens was named “Choice Music Breakout Artist: Female.”

The Disney Channel movie’s presence was felt early in the show, which opened with a 50^th-reunion spoof, replacing the youthful cast members with senior citizens.

Even “Choice Comedian” Dane Cook thanked the “HSM2″ team, joking, “I couldn’t have done this without you.”

Sophia Bush was the night’s biggest competitive individual-category winner, scoring three awards: Choice Movie Breakout: Female; Choice Movie Actress: Horror/Thriller for “The Hitcher”; and Choice Movie Actress: Comedy for “John Tucker Must Die.”

Hosted by one-time kid stars Hilary Duff and Nick Cannon, the show was telecast by Fox on Sunday night from the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal Studios Hollywood, with awards doled out at lightning speed.

Presenters blasted through more than 30 categories in less than two hours. Musical performers included Shop Boyz, Kelly Clarkson, as well as winners Avril Lavigne and Fergie, who gave the night’s most emotional acceptance speech.

“This award isn’t paid for. This award isn’t traded for favors,” she said, while tearing up. “This is picked by you.”

The awards are selected by the teen-voting public, which had been submitting picks online since July 2. Instead of statuettes, winners received surfboards.

Orlando Bloom or Johnny Depp?

Personally we’re torn between the two.

Who’s better? It’s a tough call.

We want them both together. Is that allowed?

But clearly the decision was far easier for Sky Showbiz readers.

Johnny and Orlando will be battling it out at the first ever British National Movie Awards.

The two boys have been nominated in the best male performance category, for Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End.

Sky Showbiz led a poll for readers to vote on their best male performer, and viewers decided that—drum roll please—Johnny was the guy that gets their vote.

He was far in the lead with 84% to Orly’s littler 16%.

A clear winner as far as y’all are concerned, so let’s just see what happens at the Awards themselves.

Hey everyone! Alright so I caught the trailer of Keira’s new movie “Atonement” and I was like “GAH!” haha. So I decided to cap it for you all to check out. Unfortunately the high quality trailer was not working 100% with Quicktime. So the caps are all you guys get ;)

Movie Info- Keira plays the eldest sister in a rich family who she falls for a peasant boy played by James McAvoy. They fall in love but her younger sister creates in her dellusions, that her sister’s lover committed a crime. This leads to a series of events that haunt all three throughout WWII.

So I FINALLY DID IT! I finally spent my Sunday night coding this beautiful layout created by the lovely Ace @ Celeb-Graphics.Net . He calls it his “Fresh Twist on POTC” so thats the theme I have up. I do notice that the navigation is a little small on the layout so I will tomorrow put some links up on the left side in the sidebar to make it easier to navigate the site. What do you think of that?

Also, you might also notice that site is now in PHP. I made the jump so now the site should be running smoother and changing the layout again should be pretty easy. Also the cutenews archives at the bottom which is nice :smile:

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am in the middle of coding the next layout and I think it might be our best layout yet =) But my computer is acting up (I am using another comp right now) I think it might have spyware and it is slow and had ads and stuff freezes =( It sucks! I should have the problem fixed tomorrow but I have to work on a paper tomorrow too =( My summer class is almost over! After that, layout-layout-layout!

Btw- Can someone give me an update with the Teen Choice Awards? Is the next round of nominees up yet?

Depp plumbs vampire depths

LOS ANGELES, July 27 Johnny Depp said he hopes to trade pirate’s garb for medieval clothing of undead Barnabas Collins in Hollywood’s take on the campy serial “Dark Shadows.”

Depp’s Infinitum-Nihil company is teaming with Warner Bros. and Graham King’s GK Films to develop a feature based on the daytime supernatural soap opera, Variety reported Friday.

In interviews Depp said he wanted to portray Collins, the series’ vampire patriarch originated by Jonathan Frid.

A rights deal just closed with the estate of Dan Curtis, the producer-director who created the ABC daytime drama that aired 1966-1971. Depp and King will produce with David Kennedy, who ran Dan Curtis Prods. until Curtis died last year of a brain tumor.

“Dark Shadows” achieved cult status as an atmospheric gothic tale of vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts—and humans—that featured time travel and parallel universes during its run. The storyline has been the basis for two movies filmed in the 1970s.

Today is a big day because….I FINALLY SAW PIRATES 3!! It only took three months (more like two and half) but it finally happened. I stayed like all of you said for the scene after the credits and it did make me a little sad. Honestly, I found it to be better than the 2^nd movie but still not the first. 'Pirates of the Caribbean' TV Show?

HOLLYWOOD—Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean character Jack Sparrow will be featured in a new television series.

Disney is reportedly planning to make a TV spin-off of the swashbuckling franchise with Sparrow as its main character.

A source tells British newspaper The Daily Star, “The idea is that we focus on a much younger Jack Sparrow and show fans how he became a famous pirate.

“The film has been such a success with spin-offs such as toys and video games and books, it only seems right to do a TV series.”

It is hoped a host of high-profile celebrities will provide the voiceover for the series. The source adds, “Since the film attracted guests like Keith Richards, you can imagine the stars who will want to pop up in the television show.”

Guess what??? I am BACK! I have been so crazy busy for the last couple of weeks and its good be to in the flow of summer. We will have a brand new layout coming, some more videos, more photos and hopefully I will be able to create a brand new coppermine gallery dedicated to just fan art. Pirates 4 may see Jack Sparrow go where no sailor

Sydney, June 20 (ANI): Rumours that another “Pirates of the Caribbean ” sequel is in the offing have been confirmed now.

According to a report from Cinema Blend actors Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush will reprise their roles of Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Hector Barbossa respectively.

However, no one else from the original three films will be re-cast, as the series will now revolve on Jack Sparrow.

The report also says that the next film, to be directed by Gore Verbinski again, could be a complete science fiction film.

“Some of the brainstorming going around involves some Jules Verne type of scenarios involving some pretty big flying machines, a man who wants to rule more than just the ocean, a encounter with the most famous and dangerous pirate of all, a race to get to a lost world (Hint, Hint) and Jack and his crew going to where no pirate has gone before,” Moviehole quoted an insider, as stating on the site. Johnny Depp swashbuckled his way up Forbes list of the most powerful celebrities of 2007—cashing in on both his media and box-office appeal to rake in $92 million in the past year.

Depp uncovered mounds of buried treasure as Capt. Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” flicks—earning more money in a single year than almost any other actor in history. His income more than tripled since last year’s list.

“It was obviously a huge year for him,” said Elizabeth Wasden of Forbes magazine.

The third “Pirates” film has already made more than $500 million.

Depp is the most powerful actor on the “Celebrity 100 Power List,” but sixth overall.

Oprah Winfrey scored the list’s top spot, with $260 million in earnings.

Her talk show, production company and magazine drove her power ranking up from last year’s third place, making her “one of the most influential people on the planet,” according to Forbes.

Forbes’ list gives the most weight to a celebrity’s earnings over the past 12 months, but also factors popularity based on presence in the press.

“Pirates” producer Jerry Bruckheimer made $120 million over the last year, the second most of any on the list, but his relative absence in the news accounts for his low rank, only 39^th.

Forbes puts supermodel Gisele Bundchen in 53^rd, attributing her success to her popular shoe line, Ipanema. Custom Ipanema flip-flops sell for as much as $230 a pair. Bundchen earned $33 million last year, adding to her estimated $150 million fortune. She is considered the richest supermodel in the world.

'Pirates' passes $500 million mark worldwide

LOS ANGELES (AP) � The third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean films passed the $500 million mark worldwide in 20 days, including a record opening in China for the film’s distributor, The Walt Disney Co.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, starring Johnny Depp, opened on 17,500 screens internationally around the same time as its domestic debut and earned $506 million as of Wednesday, the studio said Wednesday.

The film also took in $1.3 million on its opening day in China on Tuesday, the studio said.

That’s a record for the studio, which played the film at 506 locations across the country � its widest release in China ever.

Domestically, the film has taken in $253 million as of Sunday after three weeks in theaters.

The Chinese version of Pirates was slightly shorter than the original after censors insisted bits of the film be cut.

Disney excised some of the scenes featuring Chow Yun-Fat as Chinese pirate Captain Sao Feng after the Chinese objected due to “cultural sensitivities,” Disney said.

“They weren’t quite ecstatic with how the Chinese pirate was portrayed,” Anthony Marcoly, distribution chief at Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Distribution International, said. “He’s still prevalent throughout the movie, though.’

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif.—Captain Jack Sparrow was the big winner at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday as “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” was named best movie and its star, Johnny Depp, won for best performance.

Depp joined “Pirates” producer Jerry Bruckheimer to accept the Golden Popcorn trophy.

“This is the man who did it all right here, Johnny Depp,” Bruckheimer said. “Without him, we wouldn’t be here.”

“I’d like to thank this man and Disney for not firing me first,” Depp quipped.

So how many of you are going to go see POTC III today? I wish I was but I will soon…trust me I do not think I have the time to arrive earlier and then watch the movie. But I will! At the moment, I am going to start gather up your guys’ comments about the movie but just for everyone’s notice- WATCH THE FINAL SCENE AFTER THE CREDITS!

I think it is very vital :smile: to the movie so WAIT FOR IT!

JOHNNY DEPP may wow millions of cinemagoers with his role in the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN trilogy, but his children still prefer Spider-Man. The Hollywood hunk, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the swashbuckling franchise, has two children—Lily-Rose, seven; and Jack, five;—and they are more interested in box office rival Spider-Man than their dad’s films.

He says, “I’d get in and say (in Jack Sparrow voice) ‘All right kids, everything all right?’ And they’d say, ‘Dad, come on, I’m watching Spider-Man.’ “Oh man, Spider-Man. My boy has gone into that full-on superhero phase. But I refuse to wear the tights.”

Depp 'awkward' over on-screen kiss with young co-s

Johnny Depp says kissing Keira Knightley was “awkward”—because she is so much younger than him.

The pair shared a smooch in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest,’ but Johnny, 43, found it difficult to pucker up to Keira, 22, because of the big age gap between the two stars.

He said in an interview with New magazine, “The smooches are always so awkward, especially because Keira and I have never been in that kind of situation together. She’s, like, three and I’m a thousand!

“We’ve known each other for a few years and suddenly it was, ‘Are you ready for this?’ And you just do it. It becomes more like a stunt in a way. She was a great sport about it.”

Keira has previously revealed she begged director Gore Verbinski to add the kiss between Captain Jack Sparrow and her character Elizabeth Swann.

She said, “I was saying, ‘Give me one kiss, just give me one kiss’. “I got it and it was good, really good.”

Yesterday (May 19^th 2007) was the WORLD PREMIERE of AT WORLD’S END AT DISNEYLAND!! All of the stars of the movie were there minus Ms Swann. Hopefully we will see her at some other premieres (She must be busy filming The Best Times of Our Lives) but in the meantime enjoy the 150+ photos of Johnny, Orlando, Keith and the others at the premiere. Come in, it’s a beast out there.” With those words, Johnny Depp swings open the door to his sleek air-conditioned trailer and offers blessed relief from the brutal California heat wave. Here on the Disney lot in Burbank, where production is under way on Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Depp’s trailer—where reggae and African music are currently blasting—is his personal oasis from the rigors of three-peating his Oscar-nominated turn as pirate king Jack Sparrow in the alleged final chapter in this box-office treasure chest ($1.7 billion to date). For the past few days, Depp has been graciously sharing the digs with another unimpeachable source of cool. That would be Keith Richards, on a break last September from the Rolling Stones’ Bigger Bang tour, to film the small but pivotal role of Jack’s far from dear old dad, Captain Teague. It’s damn near typecasting, since Depp admits he used Richards as a model for the dreadlocked, mascaraed Jack. As Roger Ebert wrote, “Depp seems to be channeling a drunken drag queen, with his eyeliner and the way he minces ashore and slurs his dialogue ever so insouciantly.”

Even with the heat, there’s no slurring today. Never mind those stories later circulated by Pirates castmate Bill Nighy that Richards was so soused and wobbly on the set that director Gore Verbinski had to hold Richards’ shins steady while he filmed his scenes. At this moment, both Depp and Richards are ready for action, dressed in full pirate regalia for the day’s shoot. Richards, who’s actually been up and working all morning, appears fantastically torn and tattered, with a bandanna and braids, scars and patches, facial hair and a puffy shirt. The joke is he doesn’t look that much different onstage as the lead guitarist for the Rolling Stones.

Depp’s trailer is movie-star expansive and well swabbed with couches and wall tapestries, yet the joint also has the scary vibe of a voodoo lounge. After all, Richards, a certified wild card, recently told a Brit magazine that he was so close to his late dad, Bert, that he snorted his ashes with a bit of blow. He said he was kidding, of course, but with Richards you never know. Days earlier, another reporter earned the wrath of Keith for mistaking Richards’ famed skull ring for an Iggy Pop copy. The blunder led the rock icon to threaten the journalist with sodomy by banana.

Richards, 63, and Depp, 43, have been casually friendly for a decade. Depp is downright solicitous of his big-screen father, who today has taken to calling him “Johnny, me boy.” Depp even offers to fetch cigarettes, making him the highest-paid gofer in Hollywood. “I could use one, yeah,” says Richards. “Thanks, mate.”

It’s clear that Depp, a longtime musician and guitar freak, is having the time of his life during Richards’ solo stop on the Disney lot. For all the rock edge that Richards brings with him anywhere, his affection for Depp is clear even when he calls him an “asshole.”

London, May 13 (ANI): Now that the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie is ready to hit the theatres, lead actor Johnny Depp has revealed how much he owes to the production.

In an emotional interview with the Daily Mirror, Depp confessed that his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow has rescued his wavering career.

“I was the guy who had been bouncing around the film industry for years and I’d been lucky if five or 10 people would see my movies, so Captain Jack did a big flip for my career,” the Mirror quoted him, as saying.

Depp, whose daughter Lily-Rose recently suffered from a critical illness, also revealed that his character, and the film enabled him and his family to afford luxury and live a more comfortable life.

“He and Pirates have afforded me and my family a certain luxury in that we are able to live a little more comfortably and it will be something that will reverberate for my kids and their kids,” he said.

The actor also said that he took on Captain Jack Sparrow with pure instinct and never imagined that it was going to be a huge hit.

“When I decided to take the role it was pure instinct. I didn’t know it was going to be such a huge hit. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. It’s very, very moving and emotional, the idea that people feel this very strong connection with Captain Jack,” Depp said. (ANI)

London, May 14 (ANI): Keira Knightley reveals that working with Hollywood hunks Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom has made her the target for some jealous sniping.

The actress, who plays Elizabeth Swan in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ trilogy along with Depp and Bloom, insists that women end up being jealous of her because she got the part, that includes kissing her two co-stars.

“Women look at me as if they want to kill me. And then when they don’t kill me they say through gritted teeth, ‘Lucky you’,” the Mirror quoted her, as saying.

However, the actress doesn’t think too much about all those negative vibes, for the three stars have turned out to be good friends.

“I am lucky to have worked with two such nice guys. We’ve become very good friends. The funny thing about Pirates Of The Caribbean, a film with lots of special effects, is that I count Johnny Depp as the biggest special effect of all,” she added.

Knightley also has a piece of advice for future co-stars of Johnny Depp.

“The first thing I had to learn when acting with Johnny was not to look at him. Ignore him at all costs,” she says.

“He wouldn’t do the full Jack Sparrow if the camera was on you. But as soon as it turned around you couldn’t do any off-camera lines because you’d be laughing too much.

“There will be a lot of out-takes of everybody laughing in the middle of a scene. I remember the crew with tears running down their faces,” she added.

The final movie in the trilogy—’Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’—hits theatres worldwide on May 23. (ANI)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters)—If all goes right, “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor
Johnny Depp might soon be singing “Yo ho ho, give me a fourth bottle of rum.”

The star of the upcoming film, “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” told Entertainment Weekly magazine in an issue hitting newsstands on Friday that he is open to making a fourth film in the blockbuster series, which has earned more than $1.7 billion at worldwide box offices.

“As long as you’re doing it for the right reasons, why not?” Depp told the magazine. “If we came up with a story where we could explore something absurd or funny or totally insane.”

In the movies, Depp plays a buccaneer known as Captain Jack Sparrow, distinguished as much for his swishy hips and love of adventure as his pirating skills. The 43-year-old actor’s portrayal of wildly funny Sparrow has been credited with much of the franchise’s popularity.

The first film in the series, “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” was a surprise hit with audiences and critics in summer 2003, and last year “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” turned in blockbuster results despite mixed reviews for too many plot twists.

“At World’s End” debuts on May 25 and anticipation is running high. But the stars, including Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, are remaining mostly mum when asked to explain the plot of the third film.

“Someone asked me, ‘So tell us about your character’s arc in the third movie,”‘ Bloom told Entertainment Weekly. “I said, ‘Dude, the writers can’t even explain the third movie.”‘

If, like the second movie, “At World’s End” takes its lumps for a twisted plot, Depp is not worried.

“With this one, they’re probably going to do the same thing and maybe even go below the belt,” he said of the critics.

Depp praised the acting of Richards, who plays Depp’s father in the movie and whom Depp has credited with inspiring his portrayal of Jack Sparrow.

“What I didn’t expect was he was going to be such a great actor,” Depp said. “It was like a gunslinger who arrived in the town, charmed all the women and impressed all the men and then split.”

Disney Will Open Pirates of the Caribbean A Day Ea

Are you waiting impatiently for the third chapter of the Pirates saga? Well, Disney has made that wait a little more bearable. The studio is bumping up the release date by a few hours, opening Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End on May 24^th instead of May 25^th as originally planned.

Disney made the decision Monday after Spider-Man 3 completely wiped out the box office. According to Variety, Pirates subsequently lost its “biggest weekend opener of all times” title in the aftermath. Spidey was able to pull in $15 million more than Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End did when it opened in July of last year. That film only made $135 million as opposed to Spider-Man 3’s domestic take of $148 Million.

Instead of screening at midnight, Disney will now start the show at 8 pm on May 24^th. They are hoping to earn back their bragging rights, as the early screenings will be added into the opening weekend grosses.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is set to usher in the Memorial Day weekend like no other film before it. Remember to mark down May 24^th on your calander.

Orlando Bloom is 'hotter' than Johnny Depp!

New York, May 8 (ANI): If you want to know which actor is hotter—Orlando Bloom or Johnny Depp—then just ask actress Naomie Harris.

The British actress, who plays voodoo priestess Tia Dalma in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, insists that Bloom is definitely the hotter star of the two.

“Orlando; I love him,” the New York Post quoted her, as saying.

As for why Harris thinks that Bloom is hotter than Depp, who plays quirky pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, well that’s because the actor happens to be a gentleman as well,

“When I did ‘Pirates 2′ and I caught a cold on the plane over to start filming for my first day, everyone was there: Geoffrey Rush, Johnny, Orlando—and I was kind of intimidated because I caught this cold and I could hardly speak. Orlando was really sweet, he came up to me and gave me all this cough syrup—and I was like, ‘Yeah, you’re the hotter one,’” Harris revealed at the Montblanc de la Culture Awards.

The actress will now be seen sharing screen space with her co-stars once again when ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ hits theatres the world over on May 25 this year. (ANI)

Johnny Depp wants to make ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films for the rest of his career.

The Hollywood actor, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the hit adventure series, has no intention of hanging up his pirate hat and is prepared to keep making sequels.

He told Top of the Pops magazine: “I’ll never get bored of Captain Jack, he is so much fun. If they wanted to do ‘Pirates 7′, why not? There are new layers to Jack and situations that he can’t just talk his way out of, so it would be good to keep exploring the character.”

Johnny—who based the character on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who has a cameo as Jack’s father in the hotly anticipated third film, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’ � admits there is one thing he hates about playing Jack.

The 43-year-old star finds the process of having gold teeth glued on for every scene very uncomfortable.

He added: “They’re bonded on to my own choppers! They make the surface of my teeth kind of rough then use hot glue and laser the false teeth on.

“The process of taking them off can be quite ugly. Sometimes they just shoot off and other times you have to address the issue more intensely with yanking.”

Movie star JOHNNY DEPP has dismissed rumours his partner VANESSA PARADIS is pregnant with their third child. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor has been dating his French girlfriend since 1998 and they already have two children, Lily-Rose, seven; and Jack, four;—But Depp rubbishes reports they’re expecting again. He says, “It’s possible, but no I think it’s just a rumour. “I’d surround myself with kids if I could, but I have the easier part of the job don’t I?”

Star-studded cast for new film musical?

A star-studded cast is being assembled by film producer Harvey Weinstein for a big-screen adaptation of Nine.

The Broadway musical has swept the board at the Tony Awards twice in its lifespan, both on its initial release in 1982 and its revival in 2003. Now Weinstein is hoping that six of the world’s biggest actresses will come on board for the cinema re-make.

“I’m thinking Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger,” he admitted, when asked about the six lead female roles. “How will we pay their salaries? We’ll figure it out. There are roles for six women in the movie who have to be beautiful and sing and dance. It’s a terrible assignment to cast this.”

As well as the list of actresses, the producer is also hoping to contact Johnny Depp and George Clooney with regards to the male lead.

If you’ve stashed away a pirate’s booty of $1,500, you can book passage to Disneyland’s May 19 world premiere for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.
Disneyland, the host for all three Pirates premieres, is selling tickets to the public in hopes of raising more than $3 million for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Twelve hundred tickets will be available, starting today, at www.piratespremiere.com.

“This year, we get to do a huge amount of good for a lot of kids,” says Lylle Breier, the company’s senior VP of special events.

The studio is making a $1 million-plus donation to the foundation; 50 Make-A-Wish kids and their families will be welcomed at no charge.

The previous Pirates premieres have been big events at the Anaheim, Calif., park, but this “will be the most exciting red carpet ever,” promises Breier. “We turn all of Main Street U.S.A into a giant red-carpet arrival area.”

After stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and others walk the red carpet, they will make a top-secret entrance before the seated audience. The film will play on an enormous screen erected on Tom Sawyer Island, capped off by a fireworks display.

Fans who can’t afford the ticket price can pay regular park admission, enter at 6 a.m., and stay to observe the red carpet arrivals on Main Street.

After the screen comes down, workers will have a week to finish the Pirate’s Lair attraction, opening May 25, the same day Pirates hits theaters. Among the Lair’s interactive activities, guests can stick their hands in a “real” dead man’s chest � if they dare.

LOS ANGELES Mar 31, 2007 (AP)� The tanks were loaded with green slime Saturday for the 20^th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Hollywood’s messiest, most raucous celebration honoring kid viewers’ personal picks for best movies, music and TV shows.

Among the front-runners was Johnny Depp, poised to collect two awards should he win for favorite actor and his film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” take the prize for favorite movie.

Depp helped establish himself as a Kids’ Choice favorite at the 2005 show when he was the celebrity sliming victim during the popular ritual in which gallons of green goo rain down on someone during the festivities. Other past recipients of the honor have included Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Mike Meyers and Pink, the latter being the only person for whom pink goo was substituted.

“Every celebrity that’s showing up better have eyes in the back of their head because there will be slime,” said this year’s host, Justin Timberlake.

“It was the first thing on my rider when I took this job,” Timberlake, who is also a nominee for favorite male singer, told the AP before the show. “We have to use more slime than we’ve ever used. Ever! I made a promise that we would.”

Other front-runners included last year’s favorite TV actor, Drake Bell, nominated in that category again. Also nominated was his popular teen comedy, “Drake & Josh,” which won the favorite show award in 2006.

In the favorite cartoon category, the venerable “SpongeBob SquarePants” was in the running for a fifth consecutive trophy.

Grammy winners Gwen Stefani and Maroon 5 were scheduled to perform during the show, which was to include appearances by kid favorites Hilary Duff, Queen Latifah, Mike Meyers, Jamie Lynn Spears, Emma Roberts and Zac Efron.

The show is carried live to the East Coast from UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion on the Nickelodeon cable network, and taped for broadcast on the West Coast and Europe, Russia, Israel, Asia, Australia and Latin America.

Kids vote online to select the winners in each category. Approximately 25 million votes were cast last year, according to Nickelodeon.

Depp and Banderas in Sin City 2?

MTV talked to Sin City 2 co-director Robert Rodriguez and star Rosario Dawson about the anticipated film, which will tell one story this time that may include Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas. Here are several clips from the article:

“[Depp] was interested in doing the Jackie Boy character that Benicio [Del Toro] played [in the first one], but he was doing that movie ‘Libertine’ in Europe and it just kept getting pushed and delayed and went right through our shooting schedule,” Rodriquez said of the actor he directed in “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.” “But there is a better role for him in [’Hell and Back’]. I kept going, ‘Gosh, Jackie Boy is a small part, he could be really good [as Wallace].’ When he wasn’t available, I thought maybe it was meant to be.”

While no deal is in place for Depp at the moment, Rodriguez seemed coyly confident they would get the Oscar-nominated actor. The director was equally excited about potentially casting another of his old favorites, Antonio Banderas.

“When I showed him the first sample of the work, he went, ‘Man I’ll do anything in that. I’ll be the hunchback. You have to bring me onboard, that looks amazing,’ ” Rodriguez recalled. “So Frank met him that time too and he said, ‘I have got to find something for that guy. I’ve never met him before. He’s amazing.’ [So we’re] looking at the cast of characters and [looking] to see where he can fit.”

Hey everyone! I was really tired of the purple layout that I had before…I have nothing personal aganist Will Turner but its time for a change! The wonderful Nicki created this layout for the fansite featuring one of the stills from POTC III, so I hope you guys like it. I like it because its a good change and I think it makes the site look a lot more cleaned up and organized. I also cleaned up the html pages so that look and load better. Hope you guys like it.

I have been so busy and I am sorry it took me so long but I have *finally* gotten a copy of the trailer up for everyone to enjoy. The quality is excellent and much better than the Russian Version. Its in MOV format which means you have to have Quicktime. I highly reccommend it. The version up is 20mb so its not dial up friendly. There are versions up to 185mb but I decided to cap the 50mb which I think came out great. Both are available for everyone to view now. And I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful comments and e-mails to me…you guys are awesome :)

Hey everyone! I finally got around to e-mailing all 55 entries that I recieved for the Finish the Line Contest . I just want to remind everyone that when I put the “Country” question on the requred fields that I need you to fill it in. I got like 5-6 entries without any! All you have to do is put your country and I only do that so that there is a distinguishing factor between Sarah from USA and the one in Germany so it is isnt just a list of random names. Fears, phobias and fixations have haunted Hollywood for years � even legendary horror film director Alfred Hitchcock was an ovophobic, going “Psycho” if he ever saw an egg. But the difference is today, celebrities aren’t afraid to admit to being a little neurotic.

For those who are still scarred by the vision of “It” the clown crawling from the drain to capture the kiddies in the popular 1985 film, you aren’t alone. Depp and Sean “Diddy” Combs suffer from claurophobia, meaning they can’t handle being around clowns either.

“Something about the painted face, the fake smile,” Depp told reporters while promoting “Sleepy Hollow” in 1999. “There always seemed to be a darkness lurking just under the surface, a potential for real evil.”

According to Sky News, Orlando Bloom might be bold when it comes to fighting “Pirates of the Caribbean,” but he’ll run a mile if he sees a pig. And country singer Lyle Lovett is afraid of cows.

Johnny Depp's daughter better

The relieved actor carried the seven-year-old from the London hospital she has been staying in for nine days last night (08.03.07).

Johnny’s spokesman Robin Baum said: “We are happy to report that their daughter is doing much better. The family greatly appreciates the continued support and respect of their privacy.”

Johnny, 43, and his long-term partner Vanessa Paradis—along with their five-year-old son John Jack—took Lily-Rose back to their London hotel.

While Lily Rose’s illness was not disclosed, it has been reported she was hospitalised with blood poisoning after stepping on a rusty nail.

A source told In Touch magazine: “After the wound was left untreated, blood poisoning developed. It has now spread through her body and has affected her vital organs.”

Johnny and Vanessa had been keeping a vigil by Lily Rose’s bedside, who was said to be in a “serious condition” earlier this week.

The family recently moved from France to an English farmhouse, while Johnny films ‘Sweeney Todd’.

A DreamWorks source said: “We have adjusted the schedule to accommodate Johnny’s needs at this moment. We understand that Lily-Rose is improving. Obviously everybody at the studio is certainly with them in their good spirits.”

I completely cleaned out the Affiliates Section of the website because half of the affiliates were dead. If you believe your fansite should not have been deleted and still should be affiliated, just reapply The affiliate section of the site is cleaned, more organized and now much easier to look at, so go check it out.

Top Affiliates Clean Up!

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I cleaned up the top affiliates. We had so many dead sites and sites not linking us back so now its all cleaned up (at least I think :laughing:). I added in place of the dead sites three more of my fansites, please visit them (Yeah!) hehe. Also, we have spots open if any webbies are interested, contact me. I am in the middle of cleaning out the affiliates section of the site and then I got a whole bunch of goodies coming.

Hey everyone! Today is a massive photo upload. Wow! There is so many photos. First, I found a new photoshoot photo of Johnny and it is now our photo of the month (scroll down to see it). Secondly, I found some beautiful Keira photos from 2005 doing an Pride and Prejudice photocall. Third, I got some brand new photos of Orlando’s frizzy hair! hehe and Lastly, I reuploaded the low production photos of Keira in POTC III with the hi res version and added some. Before we even knew it, more POTC III stills have surfaced on the internet. There are 6 new stills feat. Norrington, Barbossa, Elizabeth, Tia and a guy on a guitar (Does anyone know who it is? It kinda looks like Barbossa but I am not sure). They are high quality so they are good to look at. So enjoy those and of course, tell me what you guys think of them.

JOHNNY DEPP, ORLANDO BLOOM and KEIRA KNIGHTLY are on course for a fourth PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie, according to the film’s writer. TERRY ROSSIO reveals plans are afoot to make another sequel for the hit franchise but fans may have to wait a few years to see it. After making sequels two and three back to back, Rossio feels sure Depp and company will get the chance to ditch their sea legs for a while before returning for a fourth installment. He tells movie news website MovieHole.net, “It’s like the fourth INDIANA JONES picture—there are forces in play to make it happen, and forces in play to make it not happen. “I think we will try to write a screenplay. I can’t say if we’ll be able to solve the challenge of making a good fourth film, or if our screenplay will be enough to get a film made.”

*Note* I decided to make registration mandatory for the media gallery. I was hesistant too because I have many devoted visitors who comment frequently and do visit a lot. So for now, I am going to keep it this way but I would like to hear your guys opinions and maybe I will change it if you guys hate it ;)

By the way, I only decided to make registration required because I think that POTC Web is lucky to get hold of the videos that it does, and they should in some sense be available to the people who want to see the videos enough and care to register.

Johnny Depp a 'humble soul'

Renowned Indian director Mira Nair said Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is a humble soul with none of the trappings of stardom, a report said Friday.

Depp is to play the lead in Nair’s new movie Shantaram about an Australian fugitive on the run who arrives in Mumbai, sets up a free clinic in a shanty town and works for the city’s crime bosses.
“For all the stratospheric box-office status, he’s a humble soul. He’s generally inquisitive about the world,” Nair told The Mumbai Mirror newspaper. “He considers Shantaram his bible.”

Nair believes she was picked by producers Warner Brothers because of her knowledge of India’s financial capital Mumbai, where the film will be shot. She did not give any dates on when filming would begin.

“It’s set in my beloved city of Mumbai. Shantaram is set in the 1980s Mumbai at a time when I was in the city,” she said. “I guess it was my love for Mumbai city, my knowledge of the script and their fondness for my work that clinched the matter.”

The movie is based on a best-selling book by Gregory David Roberts drawn from his experiences when he escaped from an Australian high-security prison in 1980 and later fled to Mumbai where he worked for a mafia boss.

Nair, who splits her time between homes in New York, New Delhi and Kampala, Uganda, has directed Vanity Fair, Monsoon Wedding, Mississippi Masala and Salaam Bombay!

Her latest movie The Namesake is based on a novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning Indian-born American author Jhumpa Lahiri about an Indian family’s assimilation into American culture.

Johnny Depp joined his old band ‘The Kids’ on stage in Pompano Beach, Florida for a Sheila Witkin memorial concert. She was the mother of his best friend and fellow guitarist Bruce Witkin and was responsible for the South Florida music scene in the 1970’s and 80’s.

The foursome played some of their own tunes and also some covers including U2’s I ‘Will Follow’ and The Jackson Fives ‘I Want You Back’.

A good band and Depp showed himself to be a well competent guitarist who executed his parts flawlessly.
