Dead Man’s Chest- Elizabeth Swann Profile

“It’s after you, not the ship. It’s not us. This is the only way, don’t you see? I’m not sorry.”
Elizabeth Swann is suppose to have her happy ending. She is suppose to be married to her childhood sweetheart, she is suppose to look amazing in her wedding dress, she is suppose to be having the wedding day of her dreams. Instead, the movie opens with her kneeling as the rain washes away whatever was or could have been of her wedding. So as she waits for Will, he comes in shackled, accompanied by military and the always lovely Cutler Becket who has a warrant for her and Will’s arrest for saving Jack Sparrow. Will is pulled away to pursue the “compass” on another mission while Elizabeth is kept in prison. Using every connection her father has, he tries to sneak her out of prison but is caught midway but she is lucky and smart enough to use this moment as leverage. She gets a gun points it at Cutler’s head and in return ask for two pardons which he hands over rightfully. She embarks on her journey to find her dearest William Turner which brings her into the company of Jack Sparrow. Though mistaking her
for a boy, he offers her a place in his crew without telling her that he ran into Will and told him to embark on the key mission (described in detail in Will’s profile). They travel the waters until where they (her, Jack, and Norrington) are suppose to find Davey Jones’s chest with his heart. As Will appears out of nowhere, the three men fight over the chest as Elizabeth steps on the sideline trying everything she knows to get attention. Finally all three end up on the ship fighting the Kraken without his heart that Norrington stole without Jack’s knowledge. As the Black Pearl is in turmoil, Elizabeth does the impossible in order to secure her supposed “happy ending” with Will at the expense of one of their own.
